Austin Community College
High School Programs Orientation

Attendance

  • College classes will require MORE work than your high school classes.
  • Going to every class meeting, taking notes, practicing active listening and participating in class are vital to your success.
  • Additionally, making sure that you arrive prepared for each class via completion of assigned readings and assignments is critical.

Tip: In order to receive an "A" in a college course, plan to devote 2 hours outside of class for every hour in class for homework and required readings each week. That totals 6 hours per week for one ACC 3-credit hour course!
