Distance Education
- Distance Education classes are always an option but can present unique challenges compared to a lecture-based, face-to-face course.
- Distance Education courses can be offered in multiple formats, such as Asynchronous (ONL), Synchronous (DLS), Hybrid(HYD), and Hyflex.
- Distance Education courses, especially Asynchronous (ONL) format ones, are not self-paced. Rather, they are typically self-directed requiring students to be responsible for their own learning (like an independent study class).
- Students typically must complete a mandatory orientation during the first week of the class. Students will receive a syllabus that will provide a timeline for the course and outline important dates and deadlines for assignments, readings, and exams.
- Unless otherwise stated, most Distance Education courses, including Asynchronous (ONL) classes, require you to take proctored exams either online via Blackboard or at an ACC campus Testing Center.
