Eligible Course Categories
As a High School Programs student you are able to register into any eligible college credit courses for which you meet both TSI/College Readiness Skills and course prerequisites requirements.
However, State of Texas law (SB31) establishes three categories of courses for which a public college may waive or reduce tuition/fees as part of a dual enrollment program:
- Courses on the Core Curriculum
- Foreign Language courses (to include American Sign Language/ASL)
- Courses that lead to a Workforce Certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree
The dual credit tuition/fees waiver can only be applied to eligible college credit courses that are covered by the three categories listed above. All other ACC courses will be assessed regular tuition and fees according to a student's residency.
